Delphi Expands its Air Conditioning Portfolio and Kits for the Aftermarket

Delphi is expanding its Air Conditioning portfolio by launching blower motor parts, introducing the most recent compressor applications, and launching three new AC kits.

PARIS, France - Delphi uses nearly a century of experience producing original equipment heating and cooling products to provide customers with a wide range of quality systems, tooling and spare parts.

Introduction of Blower motors

Delphi is expanding its aftermarket heating and cooling product offering with the introduction of a new line of blower motors. This most recent addition to Delphi's family of replacement products is backed by the Delphi brand - a brand that's been producing quality heating and cooling systems since 1910.

"Delphi Blower Motors are original equipment," said Lucia Moretti, vice president, Delphi Product & Service Solutions, EMEA. "The components arrive as a complete kit, making replacements simple without the need for modification to the vehicle or harnesses."

Unlike its competitors, Delphi's blower motors are packaged with the motor and fan assemblies included. Where applicable, the units also include heat shields, mounting hardware and cooling tubes.

"By offering complete units, the attachment screws and cooling tubes line up the first time, every time for a technician during a repair," said Moretti. "Combined, these features not only help reduce repair times, but also the 'noise-level' frequently associated with customer comebacks."

Every blower motor and fan assembly in the Delphi line is 100 percent OE. With some aftermarket blower motors, performance can suffer either by drawing excess power from a vehicle's system or not pushing sufficient air through the vents to efficiently cool or heat the interior. With OE products like Delphi, these problems are virtually eliminated.

Delphi Blower Motors are engineered to withstand extreme conditions, including temperatures, humidity, dust and vibration. They also feature permanent magnets and lubricated bearings for long life and dependable motor operation. And, the fans are balanced before they leave the factory to ensure vibration-free performance.

"The blower motor also plays an important role in safety," Marcelo Ganasevici, Global Thermal Product Line Director, Independent Aftermarket. "On a cold or humid day or night you need to make sure you can de-fog your windows in your car. If the blower motor does not meet OE specs, you may not be able to properly de-fog windows, which not only is a customer issue but a potential safety issue as well."

Delphi is today expanding its Air Conditioning portfolio for the aftermarket with the launch of nine new blower motors part numbers covering the following applications: Opel Astra H&G models, Vauxhall Astra RHD, Alfa 147 all models LHD&RHD and Renault Laguna II & Velsatis LHD&RHD.

Expansion of Compressors to 95% Coverage

Delphi is launching 12 new compressor parts today, increasing its repair presence among vehicle manufacturers like Volkswagen, Renault, and Opel GM and covering the following applications: New Megane/Scenic, Nissan Qashqai, Kaleos, Alfa 159, GM Daewoo, and Volkswagen Passat VI, Polo VI. As a result, Delphi extends its aftermarket coverage to 95% of the European car parc.

Delphi is one of the major OE manufacturer players in Europe with presence in all major car manufacturer groups: Vokswagen, Renault/Nissan, GM/Opel/Daewoo, Fiat, etc. Today Delphi's Thermal OE team is supplying five of the top 10 car platform models in Europe. The Polo VI is one of the most recent models and is a good example of Delphi's commitment to be first to market for our aftermarket customers.

14 new models in the Delphi Frigo range

The Delphi Diavia Frigo range is a complete range of mobile refrigeration systems for commercial vehicles with a load compartment of up to 18 m3 and for applications with both R134a and R404a refrigerant specifically designed for the transport of perishable goods.

In addition to our current 12 models for integrated installation, Delphi is now launching 14 new models for roof top and front installation. The 14 new models have 3 main design options:

o ROLLE - an electric refrigeration system for vehicles with compartments up to 5 m3 with low environmental impact.

o TONALE - a complete direct drive system driven by the vehicle compressor and designed for refrigerated compartments up to 18 m3.
o STELVIO - a complete direct drive system driven by the vehicle compressor for refrigerated compartments up to 18 m3 with a 220 V single phase AC electric motor (max 1,1 kW) for stand by applications.

These systems fulfill today's market needs that require both roof and front types of installations units. Delphi is the only manufacturer of refrigeration products that designs and produces the main components, including the compressor and the compressor support. All systems have the Accord Transport Perissable (ATP) certification.

All Delphi systems are equipped with automatic temperature control and are available in 12 V DC battery powered, integrated modular and Direct Drive. The 12 V DC battery allows the system to work without using the compressor in the engine compartment. The integrated modular does not alter the shape of the vehicle and keeps the aerodynamic factor reducing fuel consumption, noise and maintenance unchanged. The three design options make the installation fast and easy and ensure low maintenance. They may also be combined with the optional stand-by kit that keeps the system running by an external 220 V AC feed even when the engine is off. These systems are also applicable to all vehicles with original Air Conditioning systems.

These 14 new models with the 3 design options are available today and are presented at the Equip'Auto show (October 13-18) in Paris at the Delphi booth # Hall 6, Stand H64 - Parc des Expositions, Paris Nord Villepinte.
