DEK to Show New Printing Systems, Demo Latest Software at APEX 2008

Booth #1659

As electronics industry professionals prepare to roll the dice at APEX 2008 in Las Vegas, mass imaging market-leader DEK is betting its latest innovations will be the winning hand for manufacturers seeking cost-effective solutions for traditional SMT applications as well as today's most advanced processes.

With several new DEK technologies set to make their Americas debut at the event, APEX 2008 promises to be a very productive show. "From large board processing on our new Europa Vi platform to continuous substrate manufacturing on DEK's Reel-to-Reel system, a well as demonstrations of the advanced process control functionality of the Instinctiv(TM) V9 interface, there is literally something for every application," comments Michael Brianda, DEK Global Director of Sales and Marketing. "There is no other printing company that comes close to the expertise, knowhow and depth of technologies that DEK offers. Our 'Expect More' philosophy has proven this time and time again."

First launched in Europe in late 2007, the new Instinctiv V9 software technology will be officially introduced to the Americas market over April 1 through 3 at APEX 2008. Since its debut four short months ago, the technology has already been advanced to include additional functionality to its already robust capabilities. Not only does Instinctiv V9 offer operator ease-of-use, simple commands, and on-board video instruction, the software is now also compatible with many of DEK's most popular options including Cyclone understencil cleaning and HawkEye(TM) post-print inspection. Simple touch screen control enables operators to quickly and easily program and run HawkEye, view paste on pad percentages and see which pad exhibits the least amount of paste within each HawkEye area. As part of DEK's suite of productivity tools, HawkEye's integration into the Instinctiv V9 user interface makes it an even more powerful technology. On-demand demonstrations of Instinctiv V9 will take place throughout the show.

Instinctiv V9 is now standard on all DEK's systems including its latest platforms, Europa Vi and Reel-to-Reel, which will be unveiled at APEX. Designed to accommodate large board configurations up to 16.5 pounds and 25.4" x 24", Europa Vi has been engineered to deliver all of the speed, accuracy and repeatability of the award-winning Europa machine while offering the ability to handle diverse volume, mix and size requirements. For electronics specialists with continuous substrate manufacturing challenges, DEK has designed Reel-to-Reel, a robust platform that enables repeatable printing of demanding flexible, continuous substrates. The system can accommodate various substrate materials including flexible printed circuits, organic LED substrates and a range of papers, foils and advanced synthetic materials. Applications are numerous and include lighting, biomedical, automotive, RFID tags, mobile phones and laptops.

While machines and software are central components to process success, precision stencils and screens remain critical elements to high yield manufacturing. As the only screen printing firm with a complete solution offering, DEK manufacturers advanced stencil and screens with decades of materials behavior experience built into every product. From precision screens for fuel cell and photovoltaic production to frame mounted mesh stencils to its award-winning VectorGuard® interchangeable foil technology, DEK's full range of screen and stencil solutions ensure outstanding performance. The company's stencil experts will hold live seminars throughout the show and, during the sessions, will cover stencil design techniques, manufacturing considerations, application-based stencil and screen selection as well as emerging requirements for miniaturized devices. DEK technologies will be on display at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, April 1 through April 3 at APEX booth #1659. All show delegates are invited to view the company's latest innovations and discover why DEK customers 'Expect More' and receive more.
