Print process experts confident new technologies will ensure industry is ready for upturn in solar market
DEK Solar, a leading provider of print process solutions is showcasing its latest innovations at the solar industry’s premier event in Shanghai this month. The 7th Annual Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNEC) Photovoltaic Power Expo, which takes place 14th to 16th May, 2013 will see the launch of a brand new DEK Solar product as well as live demonstrations of DEK Solar’s Apollo, Eclipse and PV1200+ print platforms alongside our Process Support Products such as mesh mount stencils.
From the DEK Solar booth in Hall E3 - 320, DEK Solar’s solutions and service engineers will be present throughout SNEC to showcase market leading platforms and applications, and to offer first-hand advice on print process challenges. With over 150,000 visitors expected at SNEC this year, DEK Solar will be bringing its cutting edge technological innovations to a wide audience, which includes the major players in the solar industry.

During SNEC demonstrations of DEK Solar’s Apollo fine line printing platform, which represents the next generation of integrated cell manufacturing and metallisation platforms, will take place. Apollo offers a product throughput of 1500 wafers per hour, with guaranteed production at 10 microns. The performance of the Apollo platform is qualified by an independent software tool ensuring that the platform is operating to these specifications.
DEK Solar will also be showcasing its award winning Eclipse, a highly flexible platform that offers a rapid throughput complete metallisation solution for commercial solar cell production. The modular design concept of the Eclipse provides a series of process units that can be retrofitted to suit printing needs. Offering scalable production with a top speed capability of between 3,600 to 4,000 wafers per hour, Eclipse sets the standard in high speed precision printing.
Finally, DEK Solar’s industry acclaimed PV1200+, a full metallisation solution for high volume printing processes, will also be featured at SNEC. The line is perfectly balanced for optimal throughput in the production of high-quality and energy-efficient solar cells, whilst also maintaining a small footprint on the factory floor. The PV1200+ has been one of the most popular platforms in DEK Solar’s history and is expected to continue to play a role in the upturn of the market.
