DEK Launches New Technology, Invites Visitors to "Expect More" at APEX 2007

Visitors to the DEK booth #2047 at this year's APEX event will witness first-hand how the mass imaging leader continues to push the technology and knowledge envelope and consistently delivers more value, productivity, expertise and innovation. DEK invites customers and attendees to expect more and experience the difference that DEK's know-how, unrivalled customer service and cutting-edge product portfolio can bring to all production processes, enabling mainstream and advanced -- yet cost-efficient -- manufacturing operations.

Set to make its global debut at APEX 2007 is DEK's latest breakthrough technology, Cyclone(TM) - a revolutionary cleaning system that enables paper changeover in under 20 seconds and cuts cleaning time in half. Unlike traditional cleaning methods, Cyclone provides bi-directional active cleaning whereby a lateral oscillating action occurs simultaneously with traverse. The technology combines a five stage cleaning head, a single wet oscillating stroke and 4 vacuum vents to provide a fast and thorough cleaning of even the most challenging solder paste materials and fine-pitch apertures. Cyclone's multiple action cleaning process completely eliminates the need for a conventional third pass, further enhancing productivity and throughput. At APEX 2007, Cyclone will be shown on board DEK's flagship Horizon 01i platform, the ultimate system for value, high throughput and manufacturing flexibility.

Cyclone isn't the only speed advancement to be shown on the booth, however, as DEK will also demonstrate the fastest printer in the industry: Europa RTC. When equipped with the revolutionary Rapid Transit Conveyor (RTC), DEK's Europa high-speed platform reduces cycle time to an unprecedented 4 seconds. This remarkable speed comes with absolutely no trade-offs, as Europa's torsional and thermal stability ensure its accuracy, repeatability, and unrivaled levels of throughput even when performing at such an incomparable tempo.

And, while innovative products are the conduits of exceptional performance, it is the knowledge and expertise behind DEK's premium brand of pre-placement solutions that are the true mark of differentiation. Throughout the 3-day event, experienced DEK staff will be on hand to demonstrate the company's complete portfolio of entry-level, mid-range and high-speed flexible printer platforms and answer questions and provide insight on everything from mainstream SMT to today's most complex packaging challenges. In addition, attendees can access the DEK knowledge base by attending technical sessions that will address modern manufacturing issues. With product miniaturization becoming more the norm rather than the exception, it is imperative that today's manufacturers are armed with the latest information to help ensure a robust process even in the face of shrinking footprints and changing materials requirements. To this end, renowned DEK researchers and materials deposition experts Clive Ashmore and Jeff Schake will present their latest findings on process optimization for 0.3mm Chip Scale Packages (CSPs) and 01005s. Both presentations will be delivered on Thursday, February 22nd: Mr. Schake's 01005 paper will be presented at 9:00 a.m. and Mr. Ashmore's 0.3mm CSP findings will be discussed at 10:15 a.m.

Other highlights on the DEK booth will include the company's esteemed software innovations, Instinctiv® and Interactiv®; its revolutionary new parts verification and sourcing system, 3D Find-a-Part; the multi award-winning VectorGuard(TM) stencil system; as well as the mass imaging leader's full line of high-accuracy, productivity enhancing printing platforms, unmatched service and support offerings, tooling solutions and process support products.

DEK invites all those who expect more - more value, more expertise, more innovative solutions, more global reach, more corporate stability, more service, more process capability - to visit them at APEX booth 2047 from February 20 - 22 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
