DEK Horizon 01iX Platform a Key Component of Krypton Solutions Expansion
Print process technology leader DEK announces that long-time customer, Krypton Solutions, has selected its Horizon 01iX print platform to enable expansion of the company’s electronics design and manufacturing business. The Plano, Texas-based firm, which specializes in full-service design, layout and rapid prototyping, is adding a fourth SMT production line to accommodate its growing customer base.
“When we began in this business, we started with a DEK 248 printer,” says Dipak Patel, Krypton’s Owner and Operations Manager. “Subsequent facility growth has seen us add two Horizon 03iX platforms and now we will incorporate a Horizon 01iX into our fourth production line. It’s important to point out, however, that we have done our due diligence in evaluating multiple printing equipment suppliers; DEK has just always come out on top in its ability to meet our specific technology and support requirements.”
Focusing on quick-turn, New Product Introduction (NPI) manufacturing for high-reliability markets such as medical, aerospace/defense and semiconductor, Krypton Solutions demands production technologies that deliver repeatable, reliable performance. Krypton Global Sales Director, Carol Primdahl, explains that the company is constantly enhancing its capabilities. “We have now moved to an even more advanced platform with the Horizon 01iX,” she says. “The new system will also have features such as DEK’s HawkEye™ Bridging print verification, Paste Roll Height Monitor, Cyclone understencil cleaner and automatic stencil load, which are all designed to minimize operator intervention, ensure high yields and deliver excellent throughput.”
With a core cycle time of eight seconds, Six Sigma process capability of 2 Cpk @ +/- 20µm and print speeds of up to 300mm per second, the DEK Horizon 01iX prioritizes exceptional performance and throughput while delivering outstanding quality. With the ability to add additional technical capability when required, the Horizon 01iX also ensures future-proofed flexibility for dynamic production environments.
