Deep-Hole Drilling System produces holes down to .030 in.

Press Release Summary:

Able to drill holes with diameters from .030-.375 in. and depths to 18 in., Model HS-375 maintains its degree of hole concentricity due to counter-rotation of workpiece and speed of drilling. Counter-rotation system allows variable speeds from 500-1,500 rpm, while drilling tool can be variably controlled from 5,000-20,000 rpm. Product incorporates 300 gal coolant system and 2 independently operating spindles on separate ways.

New Deep Hole Drilling Systems Capable Of Producing Holes As Small As .030 Inch With Excellent Concentricity

Kent, OH: TechniDrill Systems, Inc., a global builder of gun drill, BTA and ejector systems, has recently introduced the Model HS-375 Deep Hole Drilling System.

The Model HS-375 is highly flexible and can drill hole with diameters from .030" to .375" and with drilling depths up to 18 inches.

The system maintains excellent hole concentricity due to the use of counter-rotation of the workpiece and the high speed of drilling. The counter-rotation system allows variable speeds from 500 to 1500 RPM. The drilling tool can be variably controlled from 5,000 to 20,000 RPM.

The Model HS-375 is designed with two independently operating spindles on separate ways. This permits the operator to either use both spindles to increase production rates of one product or drill two different pieces at the same time.

The 300 gallon coolant system delivers six gallons of coolant per minute to each spindle at 2000 PSI.

According to Jim Kent, President of TechniDrill, "The Model HS-375 is a breakthrough in deep hole drilling technology. It offers extremely small holes with excellent concentricity as demanded in various medical, automotive, aerospace and general applications."
