Abtex Corporation Introduces New Bradex(R) Double Head Flow-Through Deburring System

Abtex Corporation has introduced a new Bradex® semi-automatic double head flow-through deburring system that can accommodate workpieces from three to 60 inches long.

Three horsepower motors drive each of the four 12 or 14 inch Bradex disc brushes. The brush motors are mounted on tool slides for precise alignment of the brushes to the ends of the workpiece. Two counter rotating brushes per side provide 360° deburring action to both ends of an extrusion simultaneously. A variable speed conveyor system allows for deburring rates of up to 1,200 parts per hour. The convertible profile system allows profile spacing to be varied for specific applications.

Bradex brushes' flexible, multi-directional wiping action deburrs extrusions quicker and more completely than other systems. The Bradex flow-thru deburring system is engineered for precise control of brush penetration into the workpiece. The abrasive action is concentrated on the end of the extrusion, minimizing any effect on the lateral surface.

Bradex fiber abrasives are created by extruding nylon polymer and abrasive grit together to form a filament with the grit dispersed uniformly throughout. As the filaments wear, new abrasive particles are exposed. The filaments are secured into a uniquely designed resin body, which results in a durable, long lasting brushing tool.
