Deburring Machine cooks off defects.

Press Release Summary:

Instant ConTEMporary Deburring machine can deburr, dewhisker and remove metallic contaminants from cast iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminum parts, and deflash zinc parts, all with burst of high heat. It completely removes burrs, even deep inside parts. In typical deburring cycle, parts are sealed in chamber. Mixture of oxygen and natural gas is introduced into chamber, ignited, and flash instantly vaporizes burrs and metallic contaminants.

Instant ConTEMporarary Deburring

Instant ConTEMporary Deburring SurfTran Manufacturing Co., L.L.C.- Madison Heights, Michigan offers the only machines that can thoroughly deburr, dewhisker and remove metallic contaminants with an instant burst of high heat. SurfTran's TEM (Thermal Energy Method) provides the only way to completely remove burrs, even when they are deep inside parts. The valve body shown not only had burrs, but also whiskers in its threaded holes, which could cause contamination internally and/or cause threading problems. These problems were solved when TEM eliminated the burrs, and whiskers in the threaded areas. The TEM method works on cast iron, steel, stainless steel and aluminum parts, and deflashes zinc parts.

How Does TEM Work?
SurfTran manufactures three types of machines for small, medium and large parts, this valve body was a perfect application for their large parts deburring machine the TEM P300. A typical deburring cycle begins with the parts being indexed into the machine under the thermal deburring chamber, the parts are sealed in the chamber by a force of 300 tons, a mixture of oxygen and natural gas is introduced into the chamber, a spark ignites the mixture, instantly vaporizing burrs and metallic contaminants inside and out.

SurfTran's TEM deburring machine applications are for hydraulic/ pneumatic valving, transmission bodies, fuel injection, anti- lock braking systems (ABS) and literally thousands of other applications.

SurfTran has been solving deburring and deflashing problems for the metalworking industry for over three decades.
