Original Press Release:

Non-Handed Deadlatch from Adams Rite Offers a New Level of Versatility

Pomona, CA.... The new 4900 Series Deadlatch is the latest innovative door hardware from Adams Rite. Its non-handed design and versatile features give maximum flexibility for locksmiths and suppliers alike. With the 4900 Series, there is only one dead latch to order, stock or install.

The full 5/8" solid brass latchbolt on the 4900 can be reversed in the field, using only a screwdriver. Mounting plate bevel can be changed for flat, left hand or right hand beveled doors. Both flat and radius faceplates are supplied, to cover wood, hollow steel and aluminum stile doors. Faceplates are available in Clear, Dark Bronze or Black anodized finishes.

Further flexibility comes in the mounting design of the 4900. The tube spacers can be adjusted through the front with a hex key. For tab mounting, the tube spacer bracket is screw fastened, so it can be easily and cleanly removed.

The all metal construction of the 4900 Series includes a one-piece cast latch holdback and stainless steel auxiliary deadlatch pin. Easy-glide rollers ensure smooth action of the latchbolt and latchpin. It can be operated using any standard mortise cylinder with MS cam, with backsets of 1-1/8" and 1-1/2" available. The 4900 Series retrofits to any existing MS® Deadbolt or 4500/4700 Deadlatch preparation. It is also compatible with all Adams Rite paddles, handles, latch pulls and entry trim.

The 4900 Series Deadlatch meets or exceeds ANSI/BHMA Grade 1 standards for door hardware and is covered by a year warranty from Adams Rite. Its all-in-one versatility simplifies ordering, stocking and installation. It is truly a deadlatch for all applications.
