DE-STA-CO to Showcase New, Patented Selection of Automation and Workholding Solutions at ATExpo
Madison Heights, Michigan, July 17, 2006 - DE-STA-CO will feature its entire line of products ranging from manual clamps to automation solutions at this year's Assembly Technology Expo (ATExpo) in booth #611. ATExpo will be held at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois from September 26 - 28.
The newest product to join DE-STA-CO Robohand's impressive list of automation products is the RZA Table-Top Linear Thruster Slide, which will be prominently displayed at the show. DE-STA-CO designed its RZA Table-Top Linear Thruster Slide to provide an economically friendly alternative without compromising performance for current users of MXQ units. The RZA features a re-circulating ball bearing guidance system, longer bearings and five bore sizes ranging from 10 mm to 150 mm.
Those interested in automation of processes will find a large selection of flexible solutions from DE-STA-CO Robohand. The company's base slides, block thrusters, thruster slides, grippers and other components all incorporate DIRECTCONNECT(TM) technology, which allows for quick and easy connectivity without the use of adaptor plates. This technology provides for virtually any motion, using up to four axes.
DE-STA-CO Robohand will display its new wide body series DPW DIRECTCONNECT(TM) parallel gripper that offers DIRECTCONNECT mounting patterns in three sizes with two strokes per size. The new DPW series supports long finger applications, and multiple air port locations. Other Robohand grippers to be featured include the DPL parallel grippers and the DPD double wedge parallel grippers. The DPL series combines long strokes with high grip force, while the DPD series is rugged enough to withstand 10 million cycles.
Automation solutions by DE-STA-CO Robohand include the Smart Linear Actuator (SLA) Modular Automation System, a completely integrated flexible automation solution that will improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs, and the DLM ball rail slide series. The DLM series is the newest solution to ball rail slides, offering a wide range of features suitable for automation. Both products will be featured at the show.
Among the other DE-STA-CO Robohand products at ATExpo, the company will highlight its Modular Automation Systems and the DTE and DTH 3-Jaw multipurpose grippers. Modular Automation Systems allow system components to be mounted together quickly and easily without adaptor plates. The DTE series' sealed design is ideal for machining applications and grinding environments, while the DTH shielded grippers are ideal for a wide number of machining applications. In the area of workholding, DE-STA-CO will showcase the new 2000 series of horizontal hold down clamps. The 2000 series produces 60% more holding capacity than previous models and possesses a new ergonomic design that minimizes the risk of worker injury. Furthermore, by integrating a low pivot point, the 2000 series provides a perpendicular clamping force, avoiding dragging the point of contact over the part or material being clamped.
In addition, DE-STA-CO will showcase its new generation of Toggle-Lock Plus(TM) manual clamps. Designed with maximum safety and ergonomic benefit in mind, Toggle-Lock Plus clamps help to maintain the over-center toggle position in applications where there is apt to be movement or vibration such as transfer lines. In addition, higher levels of reliability are achieved with the new Toggle-Lock Plus when moving a fixture from point A to point B or where an entire component is being relocated.
DE-STA-CO will also be displaying innovative new models of pneumatic clamps, in addition to displaying a wide variety of existing standard-setting products. Other DE-STA-CO products to be displayed ATExpo include Heavy-Duty Toggle-Lock pneumatic clamps and new pneumatic swing cylinder clamps.
Finally, DE-STA-CO will showcase its Industrial End Effector Tooling, an optimal solution in flexible modular automation. The Industrial End Effector line can easily be configured to meet a variety of material handling applications including packaging, injection molding, metal stamping, palletizing, and glass handling.
