Original Press Release:

Pittman® Series 6000(TM) Brush-Commutated DC Motors Deliver Power in Small Package

PITTMAN® brand Series 6000(TM) 22mm brush-commutated iron-core DC motors are ideal for applications requiring the power of an "ironless core" or "coreless" motor without the associated cost. Typical applications include equipment for data storage, medical/biotech, semiconductor processing, automation, and others where DC motors must be relatively small, yet powerful.

The motors utilize a skewed 5-slot armature design and bonded neodymium iron boron magnets and can provide more power than most other DC motors of similar size. They can achieve maximum peak torques up to 10.2 oz-in and speeds up to 8550 RPM.

Motors are available in three lengths (1.256", 1.556" and 1.901"), which includes the newest longer model providing up to 40% more continuous torque (up to 2 oz-in) compared with shorter 22mm-diameter products.

Modular motor design enables easy customization with cables, shaft-mounted pulleys and gears, ball bearings, multiple windings, optical encoders, planetary gearheads, and other component options to satisfy application requirements.
