Orion Delivers Multi-Function, High-Airflow DC Fans for 1U Applications
DALLAS (October 26, 2004) - Providing designers of 1U power supplies and servers with a cost-effective cooling method for space-constrained applications, Orion Fans has developed the 120mm x 32mm Rigel Series OD1232 model DC fans, representing the latest in high-performance, low-cost DC fan design. The fans' compact size, high airflow and increased functionality make them ideal for applications such as 1U servers and power supplies, as well as similar appliances with high-sensitivity and variable heat output.
The OD1232 model fans feature double-sided PC boards with 100 percent surface-mount components. The multi-function design permits the addition of numerous special functions, including tachometer output, PWM (pulse width modulation) input, thermistor speed control (on hub or lead-wire options), and alarm signal. The fans all incorporate an auto-restart feature.

The OD1232 model fans provide airflow up to 130cfm, with speeds ranging from 1,800-3,550 RPM and noise characteristics as low as 25dB. Operating voltages include 12, 24 and 48 VDC, with voltage ranges of 8-17V, 10-29V and 18-56V, respectively. Currents range from .07-.80A, and maximum static pressure ranges from .14-.42 inches, depending on model selected.
