DC/DC Industrial Converters deliver 1,000 W continuous output.

Press Release Summary:

Available with 48, 72, 110, or 125 Vdc inputs, BAP 65TF/65F Series delivers output voltages of 24 V/40 A, 48 V/20 A, or 125 V/8 A. Built-in redundancy diode can be added for paralleling and N+1 operation, or back-up battery connection. Output ripple/noise is less than 1% of output voltage peak-to-peak and combined line/load regulation is less than ±1% from zero-load to full load. Providing 85% efficiency at full load, converters include 2,200 Vdc input/output isolation.

Original Press Release:

DC/DC Industrial Converters Deliver 1000W in Compact Packages

ABSOPULSE Electronics’ BAP 65TF/65F Series of rugged, industrial quality dc/dc converters represent the most recent revision of ABSOPULSE's BAP 65 designs. These converters deliver up to 1000W continuous output power, and are based on the company’s high frequency BAP 65 topology, which has a proven track-record in several hundred projects.

This more advanced solution offers several advantages over earlier versions. These include improved price to power ratio, almost doubling the output power from 500-700W to 1000W, and offering a broader range of input and output options. Inputs now include 48Vdc (42-60V), 72Vdc (60-82V), 110Vdc (90-130V) or 125Vd (105-145V); earlier designs were limited to 125Vdc input. Output voltages available now include 24V/40A, 48V/20A or 125Vdc/8A.  As on earlier versions of this design, a built-in redundancy diode can be added for paralleling and N+1 operation, or back-up battery connection.

The units are now available in two mechanical formats. The unique F3TF mechanical structure is cooled entirely by two long-life fans on the top of the unit; no additional cooling is required. This mechanical design is raised above the installation surface, which allows for mounting on uneven or thermally non-conductive surfaces. Alternatively, the units can be housed in a FF3 chassis, cooled by two fans on one side of the unit, with additional conduction via base plate to a heat-sinking surface. The converters meet EN61373/IEC61373 shock and vibration standards. Additional ruggedizing and conformal coating are available for immunity to high levels of shock, vibration and humidity.

The BAP 65TF/65F Series converters are filtered to meet EN55022 Class A conducted and radiated requirements, with wide margins. Output ripple/noise is less than 1% of the output voltage peak-to-peak and combined line/load regulation is less than ±1% from zero-load to full load. Protection features include 2200Vdc input/output isolation, inrush current limiting, reverse polarity protection and continuous current limiting with short-circuit protection with no hiccup. Efficiency is typically 85% at full load.
