Low Voltage Triple Output DC/DC Converter
Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. of Concord California announces the 75 Watt LT Triple Output DC/DC Converter family. The LT Triple Series consists of 12 models with input ranges of 18 to 36VDC and 36 to 75VDC. What makes the Series unique is that each model offers three precisely regulated positive output voltages ranging from 5V down to 1.5V. For example, the 24T3.1R8.1R5LT has an input range of 18 to 36VDC and outputs of 3.3V, 1.8V and 1.5V. Each output is rated at 10A with up to a 75W maximum power rating for all three outputs combined. In designs requiring three regulated voltages the LT eliminates the necessity of using three separate bricks reducing cost and the amount of board space required. The LT Triple is housed in an industry standard 1/2 brick case measuring 2.4" x 2.28" x 0.53".
The switching frequency for all models is 430kHz. All models are isolated input to output at 1544VDC. Input protection features include undervoltage lockout and input reverse voltage protection. The output voltage setpoint accuracy for the LT Triple is ±1% with zero turn on overshoot. The output voltage temperature coefficient is only 0.003%/°C. Output noise is as low as 15mV peak to peak. Line and load regulation is 0.1 and 0.5% respectively. Output protection features include pulse by pulse current limiting, short circuit frequency foldback and overtemperature shutdown.
The LT Triple models also offer remote ON/OFF for power sensitive applications. The idle current in the off state is only 2mADC. The units can be configured for positive or negative ON/OFF logic. The LT Triple also features output voltage trim. The trim range is ±10% for each output. The MTBF for the LT Triple is greater than 1M hours. The baseplate operating temperature for each model is -40 to 100°C. The thermal impedance of the case is 7 °C/W. The LT is potted with a thermally conductive potting compound and has a metal baseplate for extended temperature applications. The LT Series is backed by Calex's Five Year Warranty.
