POLs Offer a Wide Input, Trimmable Output
V-Infinity introduces a new series of industry standard point of load dc-dc converters that offer an input range of 6.0-14.0 V dc. This wider input range makes them suitable for boards that utilize a loosely regulated intermediate voltage distribution bus fed by an intermediate bus converter or a 12 V ac-dc power supply. The VPOLXXX-12W series is available in 10 A, 16 A and 20 A versions with an operating temperature range of -40 to 85 °C. Intended for a range of distributed power architecture applications including mobile communications and computing, these converters offer efficiencies as high as 94%. The low profile SIP and SMT units are also compact, measuring 22.9 x 13.76 x 5.6mm in the 10 A SIP models and 20.3 x 11.43 x 6.1mm in the 10 A SMT version.
The VPOLXXX-12W delivers output voltages ranging from 0.75 to 5.0 V which is trimmable via an external resistor. Features include remote on/off, output voltage sequencing, continuous short circuit protection, output over current protection, and over temperature protection. All VPOLXXX-12W units are UL certified. OEM pricing starts at $10.50 per unit.
