1000 Watt Full Brick with Ultra Wide Input Range
Calex Manufacturing Company Inc. announces the introduction of the FXW Series. The FXW models offer best in class performance for isolated full bricks with an industry first 1kW of output power with a 4:1 input range; 9 to 36 and 18 to 75VDC. The FXW models also offer unprecedented efficiencies up to 96.5%, critical for the thermal management of such a high power density DC/DC. The FXW measures 2.5” x 4.7” x 0.52”H. The FXW is ideal for applications ranging from 12V battery, 24V industrial, 28V military to 48V telecom. The output voltages available are 24 and 28VDC. All models will operate normally down to a no-load condition.
The FXW’s high efficiency and high power density is accomplished through use of high-efficiency synchronous rectification technology, advanced electronic circuit, packaging and thermal design thus resulting in a high reliability product. Converter operates at a fixed frequency and follows conservative component de-rating guidelines. The input to output isolation voltage of the FXW is 2250VDC. All models feature Sense and Trim as well as ON/OFF. Sensitive to battery applications, the OFF idle current is 3mA.
The MTBF for the FXW is 5.4M hours. All models are RoHS compliant The case operating temperature range is -40º to 100ºC. An extended temperature range version of the FXW, the “-T” option, is available with an operating temperature range of -55 to 105ºC including cold start at -55ºC.
All models feature Over Current Protection, Short Circuit Protection, Over Voltage Protection, Over Temperature Protection and are backed by Calex’s Five Year Warranty. All models are designed and built in the USA.
