Lambda's New Pah200h Series Provides Up To 70a In A Half Brick Package
SAN DIEGO, CA (June 10, 2002) - Lambda's new high current, high efficiency PAH200H power modules provide up to 70A in the industry standard half brick footprint measuring 2.4" x 2.28" x 0.4". Designed using the latest techniques and components, the new DC-DC converters boasts a power density of over 105W/in³, and address the requirements of distributed power applications offering three output voltage choices from 1.8V to 3.3V. These new modules are available with efficiencies of up to 90 percent for a 3.3V output unit.
"The demand for more current from existing packages is increasing," said Lambda Marketing Director David Norton. "Not only are processors and ASICs taking more current at lower voltages, many designers are using the 2.5V or 3.3V bus to supply their point of load converters."
The PAH200H Series, operates from a nominal 48V input, provides a fully regulated output at power levels up to 198W, and accepts a wide range DC input of 36-75VDC with a peak of 100V for 100ms.
The PAH200H Series offers nominal single output voltages of 1.8V, 2.5V and 3.3V. All modules come with a voltage adjustment feature as standard, capable of adjusting the output +10 to -20% percent on the 1.8V and 2.5V models, and +/- 15% for the 3.3V models.
Standard features include remote sense, overvoltage and overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown, output voltage adjustment, remote on/off and 1500VAC isolation. The remote on/off is available in either positive or negative logic configurations. Manual or automatic recovery after a fault condition can also be specified.
The PAH200H provides designers with a choice of industry standard pin configurations, the C version having a single set of output pins, or dual output pins to better distribute the higher currents.
Operating temperature is -40°C to 85°C without a base plate, and up to 100°C with a baseplate. The modules can be convection or forced air cooled.
All models are approved to UL1950, CSA22.2 NO. 950-95, EN60950 and carry the CE mark.
