Press Release Summary:
Combining internal 42 V, 1.1 A VCESAT switch with soft-start capability, LT3467 uses constant frequency current mode architecture and operates from input voltage range of 2.4-16 V. Step-up DC/DC converter employs ceramic capacitors and inductors and 1.3 MHz constant switching frequency for low noise operation. Additional offerings include pin-to-pin compatibility with LT1930 and LT1613 and quiescent current of 1.2 mA during operation and less than 1 µA in shutdown.
Original Press Release:
High Voltage, 1.3MHz Step-Up DC/DC Converter with Soft-Start in ThinSOT
MILPITAS, CA - August 13, 2003 - Linear Technology announces the LT3467, a 1.3 MHz, step-up DC/DC converter that combines an internal 42V, 1.1A switch with soft-start capability. Using a constant frequency current mode architecture, the LT3467 operates from an input voltage range of 2.4V to 16V, making it ideal for single cell Li-Ion, 5V or 12V applications. Its internal 42V switch is well suited for boost converters with outputs up to 40V as well as SEPIC and flyback designs.
High inrush current is eliminated via an integrated programmable soft-start function, and a constant switching frequency of 1.3 MHz enables low noise operation. The combination of its ThinSOT® package and tiny, low cost ceramic capacitors and inductors, results in a cost-effective, compact solution footprint.
The LT3467 incorporates a low VCESAT, 1.1A switch to deliver efficiencies as high as 90%. It is pin-to-pin compatible with both the LT1930 and LT1613, yet offers a slightly higher current limit than the LT1930 (1.1A vs. 1A) and a higher output voltage of 40V vs. 34V for both the LT1930 and LT1613. Quiescent current is only 1.2mA during operation and less than 1uA in shutdown. The LT3467 is an ideal solution for applications such as TFT-LCD bias, xDSL, white LEDs or camera flash LEDs, which require both low noise and a tiny solution footprint.
The LT3467ES6 is available from stock in a 6-Lead ThinSOT package. Pricing starts at $1.75 each for 1,000-piece quantities.
