DC/DC 20 W Converters concurrently cover all rail bus voltages.

Press Release Summary:

Targeting railway, transportation, and industrial applications, MGDDI-20 Series offers 2 isolated outputs for parallel, serial, or symmetrical operation: 5, 12, 15, and 24 V. Switching techniques enable 12–160 V input range to cover all typical battery/bus voltages — 24, 36, 48, 72, 96, 110, 125 V — via one device while keeping efficiency as high as 90%. Supplied in 1 x 1.5 in. housing, products operate from -40 to +100°C and are potted to fit rugged transportation environmental conditions.

Original Press Release:

New 20W, 12:1 Input Voltage Range DC-DC Converter from Gaia-Converter Covers All Rail Bus Voltages at Once.

Gaia Converter expands its ultra wide input voltage range DC/DC Converters targeting Railway, Transportation & High end industrial applications.

Uniquely wide, the MGDDI-20 Series 12-160V input voltage range is ideal to cover all typical battery/bus voltages at once (24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V, 110V, 125V) with the same device.

This unique performance is achieved thanks to Gaia's proprietary switching techniques also allowing to keep efficiency as high as 90%.

With 2 isolated outputs (for parallel, serial or symmetrical operation) of 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V, they can cover a wide variety of needs such as single 5 to 48V output, +&- 15V or 2x24V outputs (10W each) for example.

Packaged in the low profile industry standard 1”x1.5” housing, the MGDDI-20 Series have a wide temperature range of -40°C to +100°C and are potted to fit rugged Transportation environmental conditions.

The units are full featured and protected with zero to full load regulation, Trim & On/Off capability, adjustable UVLO, soft start, embedded EMI filter as well as over-current and over-temperature protection.

Complying with EN50155/55022 or equivalent standard becomes straightforward thanks to such wide input voltage range and the use of fixed switching frequency (270kHz) with embedded LC filter. Designed for rugged applications, the MGDDI-20 series do not use optocouplers in the feedback loop.
