ERG Introduces MD Inverter Platform For Powering Multi-Tube LCD Modules



Endicott, NY, April 2002 - The new MD Series of DC-AC inverters from Endicott Research Group (ERG) Inc. power up to 16 CCF tubes with combined power from 10 to 60 watts. Only 0.669 inches (17 mm) in height, MD Series inverters feature integrated input and output connectors and vacuum-encapsulated transformers for increased reliability.

These high-efficiency inverters can be easily dimmed using an external analog control signal that interfaces with an onboard pulse width modulator (PWM). MD Series inverters can reliably dim to less than 0.5% duty cycle, resulting in an electrical dimming ratio of > 200:1. Depending upon the attached backlight assembly, optical dimming ratios of > 1000:1 can be achieved.

MD Series units are powered by a regulated 12 volt DC source. Operating temperature is 0 deg to +50 deg C (0° to +70 deg C absolute maximum).

The five mounting holes on each module make installation straightforward and simple, and mating locking input and output wiring harnesses are available from ERG.

Each MD Series inverter is designed, manufactured and supported in the USA and comes with a one-year warranty.
