ERG's New 2-Tube Inverter Powers Large LCD's and is Easily Dimmable

Endicott, NY, November 2002 - The new 8mAD Series of DC-AC inverters from Endicott Research Group, Inc. are designed for powering high-performance LCDs in the 10.4-inch and 12.1-inch diagonal size range. They are ideal for any LCD that is backlight by a pair of CCFLS (cold cathode fluorescent lamps) that are in conjunction at either end of the LCD panel (top or bottom) using a single output connector.

8mAD Series inverters feature on-board connectors and can be easily dimmed using an external analog control signal or external PWM generator. They are excellent for LCDs that that are designed to produce high brightness, wide range dimming, high contrast and superior daylight readability.

8mAD inverters are used to power the CCFL backlighting for the Optrex T-51410D104J-FW-P-AB 10.4 inch diagonal high-brightness TFT LCD module (8mAD 2791, which is powered by a regulated +12 VDC source). They are also used to power the NEC NL8060BC26-17 display backlight (8mAD2790, which is powered by a regulated +5 VDC source). And, they are readily adaptable to similar LCD modules from a variety of manufacturers.

The 8mAD offers a small package size (less than 9mm high), high efficiency, and a high dimming ratio (it reliably dims to less than 5% duty cycle). It complements ERG's 8m Class of low-profile, lightweight DC to AC inverters with external control and PWM dimming.
