ERG Offers Economical Inverter With Flexible Delivery For Powering LCD Modules Backlit By One CCFL
Endicott, NY, January 2002 - Endicott Research Group (ERG), Inc., has introduced the 8D Class low-profile DC-AC inverter as an economical source of CCFL backlight power for LCDs in a range of applications, including those requiring high-volume production with flexible delivery schedules.
The 8D is designed for LCD modules that are backlit by a single cold cathode fluorescent lamp (or tube). This high efficiency inverter is only 8 mm high, and has on-board PWM dimming with analog control, up to 5 watts of output power, and integrated
input and output connectors. Mating locking input and output wiring harnesses are also available.
"It's an ideal solution for powering backlit LCDs ranging in size from 4 to 12 inches diagonal," said Bill Abbott, Strategic Marketing Manager for ERG. "It can be used in medical diagnostic or monitoring devices, industrial process or control equipment, point-of-sale displays, and gaming systems, to name just a few."
The 8D is compatible - and price competitive - with TDK's CXA-LO612 Series of single output inverters. "The difference with the 8D," said Abbott, "is that you get flexible delivery schedules to mesh with your production schedules, and ERG offers full custom application capability. Plus, the 8D is designed, manufactured and supported in the USA."
The 8D Class Inverter measures 3.43" (87.1mm) long x 0.75" (19.1 mm) wide. It weighs only 15 grams. Operating temperature range is 0 to +70 deg C.
