CINCINNATI, OH - In one of its most recent projects, Hollaender Manufacturing's Interna-Rail® railing system was installed inside the Dayton International Airport's new multi-level parking garage, located in Dayton, Ohio. What makes the installation unique is the use of original artwork that was created by local Dayton elementary school students and then integrated into the handrail system as infill panels.
Dayton area 3rd and 4th grade students were asked to create artwork that reflects the area's rich aviation heritage. The finished drawings were then transferred onto acrylic infill panels, and installed using Hollaender's 2-piece infill panel clips. The handrail and student's artwork are now in place throughout the level areas of the five stair towers inside the multi-level garage. The integration of the artwork creates a bright, creative and very welcoming display for travelers as they journey through the stair towers.
More traditional blue opaque infill panels are installed in the stairways using the same 2-piece clips. The modular design of Hollaender's Interna-Rail allowed the entire system to be easily and quickly installed on-site.
Hollaender railing systems have been installed systems in a wide variety of architectural settings. Some of these can be viewed in their architectural project gallery.
