Fidelis Security Systems Releases Fidelis XPS(TM) v4.0

BETHESDA, Md., July 9 -- Fidelis Security Systems, the authority on extrusion prevention, today unveiled version 4.0 of the Fidelis Extrusion Prevention System®, Fidelis XPS(TM). The newest version of the enterprise-class network appliance offers the industry's most extensive protection from data leakage with new capabilities that yield the most complete solution for data-in-motion in the market today. A new graphical user interface with improved usability for workflow and administrative tasks is now teamed with increasingly sophisticated session and alert handling. Fidelis XPS 4.0 continues to showcase all of the product's superior advantages such as proven performance and prevention across all ports and real-time protocols. As a result, organizations can mitigate the risks of data leakage with more direct control, ease of use and with greater efficiency than ever before.

Fidelis XPS continues to be the only system able to identify and prevent data leakage in real time across all channels on all ports on the network at gigabit speeds. A uniquely powerful rules-based approach to identifying privacy-sensitive information eliminates the need for time-consuming data registration that is difficult to maintain. Organizations can manage and enforce policies regarding content protection and acceptable network use with unprecedented granularity of control. With the new release, Fidelis XPS network appliances are now offered in ten configurations, allowing a user to select a product that will fit seamlessly into existing IT infrastructure with minimal impact, requiring no configuration changes to network devices, servers or desktops.

"We like that Fidelis, unlike most other [anti-data leakage] ADL vendors, built its own protocol and document decoders (most others license those components)," said Nick Selby, Senior Analyst and Director with The 451 Group, a technology industry analyst company focused on the business of enterprise IT innovation, in his report. "Fidelis makes sensible and targeted product decisions that address ADL from a utilitarian standpoint, and its federal customers -- including those in sensitive military environments -- back up its claims of technical differentiation." These comments appeared in an independent report, titled "Fidelis 4.0 expands management console workflow and adds a Milter-based mail agent," which was published on June 28 of this year (see Editor's Note below).

Specific new capabilities of Fidelis XPS v4.0 include:

--Enhanced graphical user interface on the management console, Fidelis XPS CommandPost(TM), eases administrative use and improves post-alert workflow.

--New appliance, Fidelis XPS Mail, solely dedicated to extrusion prevention of e-mail gracefully handles quarantine, sender notification, and redirection to e-mail encryption vendors.

--Fidelis XPS Mail provides choice of e-mail implementation as a mail transfer agent in the mail flow or out-of-band analysis via the open-standard Milter interface. Fidelis XPS offers the first Milter for data leakage enabling the sensor to connect into the existing e-mail gateway to provide data leakage prevention without configuration changes to email routing.

--Partial document matching enhances unstructured data support by ensuring that sensitive information remains protected-even if excerpts of the data are removed or altered in the original document, or cut-and-pasted to a different location.

"By delivering the next generation of extrusion prevention technology to the market, we have given organizations the power they need to prevent costly and untimely extrusions with great confidence," said Timothy Sullivan, CEO of Fidelis Security Systems. "The product's ease of use and granularity of control deliver instant results by providing flexibility and the ability to configure a system that works seamlessly in an existing environment. Fidelis XPS remains the only gigabit Extrusion Prevention System and the only product that can address the threat of extrusions across real-time protocols."
