Original Press Release:
Check-Secure(TM) v. 2.0 Adds High Security to Check, Other Classified Printing Operations
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif., Feb. 13 -- Electronic document specialist Accel Technologies ( www.acceltechnologies.com/ ) has just unveiled version 2.0 of Check-Secure(TM). Check-Secure is a powerful and easy to implement security enhancement for laser MICR check printing operations where access to signatures and MICR fonts must be carefully guarded.
Check-Secure delivers superior security by storing confidential information on portable flash memory cards. Sensitive data becomes accessible only when the Check-Secure flash memory card is inserted into the compatible control unit. Once the desired checks or documents are printed, the memory card can be removed and safely stored.
Check-Secure, now in version 2.0, has been enhanced in ways that make it more powerful and convenient to use. First, its memory card capacity has increased from 1MB to 8GB, allowing thousands of sensitive documents, signatures, and logos to be stored on one small card. This means Check-Secure can be used as a simple external document storage device whether security is a primary concern or not. Thousands of documents can be stored at the printer level, therein relieving host storage space issues.
In v. 2.0 the size of Check-Secure's control unit is 50% smaller. The new controller's footprint is five inches wide, four inches deep, and only one and one-half inches tall. Flame retardant, impact resistant ABS plastic improves its durability and reliability.
Check-Secure is compatible with laser printers from most manufacturers. Its control unit is connected to a laser printer's parallel port, and its programming software resides on a separate PC allowing the user, with password control, to modify and load sensitive resources onto the memory cards.
Accel Technologies is looking for business partners and distributors interested in adding Check-Secure to their portfolio. The complete Check-Secure 2.0 system includes the control unit, cables to connect it to the printer and PC, a flash memory card, and the Check-Secure programming software. The end user price for the entire system is $800. Other purchase options are available.
