Data Radios offer point-to-multi-point wireless I/O.

Press Release Summary:

DIN-rail mount RAD-DATA-BUS systems enable monitoring and control at low point count remote sites while eliminating need for PLC where local logic is not required. Each transceiver consists of master, slave, and store-and-forward repeater/slave. Data radios not only move RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 for serial data from PLC or controller with MODBUS and Allen-Bradley DF1 protocols, but also allow users to read and write analog and digital I/O from remote locations.

Point-to-Multi-Point Wireless I/O Eases Control

Harrisburg, PA - Phoenix Contact's new wireless I/O for industrial applications enables monitoring and control at low point count remote sites while eliminating the need for a PLC where local logic is not required. These data radios not only move RS-232, RS-422 and RS-485 for serial data from any PLC or controller with MODBUS and Allen-Bradley DF1 protocols, but also allow users to read and write analog and digital I/O from remote locations. This new RAD-DATA-BUS system is compatible with the company's expandable wireless I/O module combinations and other DIN-rail mount serial data radios.

Each RAD-DATA transceiver is a master, slave and store-and-forward repeater/slave all in one. While supporting transparent data communications, as well as MODBUS and Allen-Bradley DF1 packet communications, the radios self-heal (reroute) in repeater networks. Remote diagnostics is a standard feature.

The strength of these radios lies in their ability to withstand ISM band interference while ensuring the integrity of the data and I/O packets. DIN-rail mountable, Class I, Div 2 approved, license-free and easy-to-use, these ISM band frequency-hopping radios are capable of performing across wide temperature ranges and accepting a broad range of DC voltages.

The RAD-DATA-BUS offers reliability and flexibility in point-to-multi-point applications, similar to the point-to-point systems users have come to trust in Phoenix Contact's industrial wireless I/O devices used to replace digital and 4-20mA cabling.
