Chrome Systems Launches ACES Mapping Product

New Offering to Help Increase Aftermarket Parts Ordering Accuracy Using Chrome and Industry-Standard IDs

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Chrome Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of DealerTrack Holdings (Nasdaq: TRAK), and a leader in automotive data, today announced the launch of a new data mapping product that leverages standardized parts descriptions to streamline and improve the accuracy of mapping between Chrome Style IDs and the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA) Aftermarket Catalog Enhanced Standard (ACES) classification system.

The ACES classification system is the North American industry standard for the management and exchange of aftermarket parts data, while the Chrome Style ID is a unique identifier for every vehicle style down to the trim level going back to 1981.

The new Chrome ACES Mapping product can be used on its own or implemented with Chrome's Automotive Description Service (ADS) to enable users to enter a VIN and retrieve Chrome Style IDs and corresponding ACES parts IDs to easily match the right vehicle to the right part.

"Mapping between Chrome and ACES will help aftermarket providers and distributors confidently match the correct aftermarket product to a specific vehicle," said Amit Maheshwari, general manager, DealerTrack Data Services. "With aftermarket product sales at more than $280 billion per year and growing, there is increased demand for consistent data to streamline the ordering process. Our mapping product meets that demand, allowing users to minimize aftermarket parts return and simplifying the overall catalog search and ordering process," added Maheshwari.
