Methode's Datamate Products Introduces Its Small Form-Factor Pluggable Copper Loopback

Chicago, IL - dataMate Products, a division of Methode Electronics, Inc., introduces its Small Form-Factor Pluggable (SFP) Copper Loopback. The Copper Loopback is designed for use with Fibre Channel, Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband, or any other application where an MSA-compliant SFP is used. The device is utilized to loop transmitted data back to the Receive Data inputs.

dataMate's Copper Loopback offers a cost-effective, high-speed interconnect solution for serial applications up to 2.5 Gbps. The Copper Loopback's die cast housing provides exceptional EMI performance (better than -40dB). Structural benefits include a "pull-to-release" bail latch actuator which provides easy release in tightly-spaced applications, and a unique series of spring-loaded clips to ensure proper grounding when used with an EMI Cage (also available through dataMate). Further benefits include doubled systems port density, easy access for maintenance, and optional serial ID support. Standard versions are available with 0 dB and -5dB of attenuation. Custom versions can be designed to accommodate alternate levels of attenuation.

The Copper Loopback is just a part of dataMate's new line of Small Form-Factor Pluggable products, which also include the Active and Passive Patch Cord Assembly, the SFP to HSSDC-2 Converter, the SMT 20-Position Connector, and the EMI Cage. The Copper Loopback is compliant with the Small Form-Factor Pluggable Transceiver Multi-Source Agreement (MSA).

dataMate's Copper Loopback is available from stock.
