Onset Introduces New High-Resolution Data Loggers with Direct USB Interface

New HOBO® U12 Family provides high-resolution measurements, direct USB interface

BOURNE, MA, July 22, 2003 - Onset Computer Corporation, the leader in reliable, battery-powered data loggers, today introduced the HOBO U12 Family, four new high-resolution, high-accuracy data loggers for measuring temperature, relative humidity (RH), light intensity, and other indoor environmental conditions. Leveraging the strength of the company's popular line of HOBO H8 loggers, the new U12 Family represents the next-generation in low-cost, easy-to-use data logger technology, offering a variety of important new features:

o 12-bit resolution - provides high-resolution measurements for detecting greater variability in recorded data.
o High-precision sensors - enable exceptional long-term data accuracy (RH +/-2.5%, Temperature +/-0.35C).
o Direct USB interface -- enables high-speed data offloading (64Kbytes in 30 seconds).
o 43K measurement capacity - increases the amount of data that can be stored prior to being offloaded. This is useful in applications where frequent sampling is required, or in long-term deployments.

U12 loggers also feature a new ruggedized enclosure for enhanced product durability, and external input models accept the same wide range of external sensors and input cables as the company's HOBO H8 loggers, including External Temp, AC Current sensors, and 4-20 mA and DC Voltage cables.

Typical applications for HOBO U12 data loggers include HVAC performance troubleshooting, indoor air quality and comfort monitoring, storage monitoring, and energy studies.

For data plotting and analysis, Onset offers its new easy-to-use GreenLine(TM) software package. GreenLine enables users to launch and readout U12 loggers with point-and-click simplicity, and offers real-time monitoring capability or a PC. The software also offers a number of other convenient features, such as one-
click conversion of data for easy upload into Microsoft(TM) Excel software, and the ability to view multiple channels from a single logger on one graph.

HOBO U12 Family data loggers are priced from $75 - $119 U.S., and will begin shipping in July 2003. The GreenLine software starter kit, which includes GreenLine software, USB cable, and manual, is priced at $25 U.S and will also begin shipping in July 2003.
