CAS DataLoggers Introduces New Environmental Monitoring Solution

dataTaker DT82E Environmental Data Logger

CHESTERLAND OH- Workers in environmental applications are always searching for a cost-effective solution to monitor any number of different parameters including water turbidity, air pressure, flow, and much more. Now CAS DataLoggers offers customers the dataTaker DT82E Environmental Data Logger, designed to handle environmental monitoring applications where robust functionality and low power consumption are necessities. The DT82E is a robust, stand-alone, ultra low-power data logger featuring universal inputs, USB memory stick support, 18-bit resolution and a built-in display. Designed for a wide range of environmental applications including agriculture, weather stations, hydropower, and more, the new DT82E data logger offers users a flexible, cost-effective solution. With support for SDI-12 sensor networks, TCP, FTP and Web interface, and advanced alarm capabilities, the DT82E is ready to be rolled out into environmental, industrial and many other types of monitoring projects.

This intelligent data logging system features universal input channels that can be used to monitor almost any input signal type, allowing users to record Temperature, Voltage, Current, 4-20mA Loops, Resistance, Bridges, Strain Gauges, Frequency, Digital, Serial and Calculated Measurements. These data loggers also offer powerful alarm and programming capabilities that allow them to process measurements and initiate actions on their own. The environmental datalogger can also be used for local data acquisition and datalogging when connected to a PC; for remote unattended data collection connected to a centralized computer via modem or the internet; or as a stand-alone device.

The DT82E environmental data logger can easily connect to most sensors and data measurement sources via analog and 4 bi-directional digital channels, 4 high-speed counter channels, and an SDI-12 channel for environmental sensors. Its 2 universal analog sensor channels support up to 6 sensors to handle projects such as monitoring water quality and measuring pH levels. The DT82EM's Dual Channel isolation allows 4 2-wire differential or 6 common referenced analog inputs to be used in many different combinations. Measurements are performed at a high accuracy of ±30 V input measurement range and can all be scaled, logged and returned in engineering units or within statistical reporting. Users can group sampling, data logging, alarm and control tasks within schedules to suit their own requirements. The environmental logger also includes a built-in display for clear readings.

Based on the highly successful DT8x platform, the DT82E environmental logger boasts a rugged design and construction providing reliable operation even in extreme weather conditions and can keep operating on battery or solar power for extended periods. Featuring large storage and easy data management, the data logger can store up to 10 million data points in its large user-defined memory, with the ability to log as much or as little as users need, granting independent control of schedule size and mode. The data logger will also overwrite or stop logging once its allocated memory is full.

The data logger's powerful communications features include RS232 with modem support, Ethernet, and USB memory stick ports for easy data transfers. Users can connect to the DT82E locally, remotely or over the Internet. The web interface allows users to configure the dataTaker, access logged data, and see current measurements as mimics or in a list using a web browser. FTP provides data directly to an office over the internet or mobile phone network without the need for any polling or specific host software. Users can archive data on alarm event, copy to USB memory or transfer via FTP.

Additionally, FREE dEX web-based software is included with every dataTaker datalogger, using an intuitive graphical interface that allows users to configure the data logger, view real-time data in mimics, trend charts or tables, and retrieve live and historical data for analysis. This user-friendly software runs directly from a web browser through the built-in Ethernet Interface with no need for any special software and can be accessed either locally or remotely--anywhere that a TCP/IP connection is available-
-including worldwide over the Internet. Operators can use any of the logger's built-in communications ports to view dEX including Ethernet, USB and RS-232.
