Upgraded MARLIN(TM) Pocket Pro with New High-Resolution Color Screen

Offers Improved Readability in Dimly or Unevenly Lit Locations

SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA, USA-An upgraded version of the MARLIN(TM) Pocket Pro data manager featuring a new high-resolution color screen is now available from SKF® Reliability Systems. The 320-by-240-pixel color display/touch screen enhances image clarity and readability for Pocket Pro users, especially in locations with uneven or inadequate lighting. The upgrade is an addition to the CMDM 5000P product line.

The pocket-size, 10.3-ounce MARLIN Pocket Pro supports Operator Driven Reliability (ODR) programs by allowing machine operators and other plant personnel to collect, store and analyze machine vibration and process data. The device's color screen produces sharp images with excellent contrast, improving visual comprehension and reducing eye strain. The screen, which comes equipped with 64k colors, allows users to clearly view charts, numbers, superscripts, exponents and other symbols, even in dimly lit areas.

The upgraded MARLIN(TM) Pocket Pro with color screen is available in standard and "non-incendive" varieties. The standard unit is designated CMDM 5100P. The "non-incendive" version, designated CMDM 5101P, meets special safety requirements for petrochemical environments.

Trending Machine Conditions
The MARLIN Pocket Pro data manager facilitates in-the-field trending of machine conditions, comparisons of baseline measurements with previous readings, and alarm notifications. A user-notes feature allows operators to record immediate impressions of troublesome machine conditions, which can then be uploaded to a host PC. The MARLIN Pocket Pro features a user-friendly graphical interface that significantly reduces the need for operator training.

The data manager comes standard with Microsoft Pocket Word, Pocket Excel and Internet Explorer software programs. The companion programs Machine Analyst and Machine Inspector facilitate in-depth analysis of machine operations and data sharing among different plant departments.

The upgraded MARLIN Pocket Pro with color screen is part of a complete family of solutions from SKF Reliability Systems for improving machine and process availability.
