Data Collector enables distribution of condition monitoring.

Press Release Summary:

CSI 2117P1 handheld vibration data collector enables plant personnel to gather information such as vibration levels, shaft turning speed, and process parameters on rotating machines throughout plant. Up to 12 parameters make it possible to distinguish between imbalance, misalignment, gear defects, bearing faults, and other machinery problems. Companion software, RBMware, consolidates trend parameters as well as advanced machinery data into single, centralized database.

Emerson Introduces New Vibration Data Collector

CSI 2117P1 data collector enables distribution of condition monitoring throughout the plant.

KNOXVILLE, TN (July 12, 2002) - Emerson Process Management has introduced the new CSI 2117P1 vibration data collector, an inexpensive (<$5,000), easy-to-use, handheld instrument. The 2117P1 data collector enables anyone - not just maintenance technicians -- to collect data for day-to-day monitoring of critical production equipment. The instrument reduces complex
machine vibration data into machine health information.

Using the 2117P1 data collector, plant personnel can easily gather information (vibration levels, shaft turning speed, and process parameters) on rotating machines throughout the plant. Multiple parameters (up to 12) make it possible to automatically distinguish between imbalance, misalignment, gear defects, bearing faults, and other types of common machinery problems. If one of the parameters exceeds the predefined alarm level, it alerts the user to the existence and probable nature of a fault. A plant reliability specialist can then collect additional
data or perform field diagnostics to recommend specific maintenance actions. Emerson's companion CSI software, RBMware, is designed to consolidate the trend parameters as well as advanced machinery data into a single, centralized database.

The 2117P1 data collector can be upgraded to add advanced data collection, vibration signature analysis, and field balancing. Data collection routes created for the 2117P1 data collector are also compatible with other CSI analyzers including the 2120 machinery analyzer.
