Inexpensive, Portable TDS(TM) System Transfers Scale Data to a Computer Without Manual Entry

Fairmont, MN-November 1, 2002-Weigh-Tronix, Inc. introduces the Transfer Data System (TDS). Developed to help producers analyze scale information and create reports without the errors and effort of manual data entry, the TDS is a scale data collection kit that offers a simple and convenient method to capture and transfer scale data from any RS-232 serial port-equipped Weigh-Tronix scale indicator to a Windows-based PC.

The TDS features a compact, durable, and easy-to-use Transfer Data Module with 64K of memory that captures and stores up to 1600 different lines of scale information. It is virtually maintenance-free since the internal power source recharges while the module is connected to the scale indicator, thus no batteries are required.

After collecting scale data in the field, the Module is easily connected via the supplied cable to a PC. One click in the TDS Software is all it takes to upload the data to the computer where it may be imported and analyzed in spreadsheets or databases, printed into reports, and saved for later retrieval and comparison. The scale information is saved to a user-designated folder and each downloaded file is conveniently named using an automatic date stamp format.

"The TDS is a simple, inexpensive system that gives producers the information they need to help make good business decisions and increase profitability," says Tom O'Connell, Weigh-Tronix Vice President & General Manager. "With the TDS, ag producers now have an easy and reliable way to capture data, analyze information and create reports without manual data entry. The TDS lets producers spend more time applying this valuable information to improve their operation by virtually eliminating the time needed to collect it."

The Transfer Data System includes module, software and two interface cables. More information on the TDS is available online, listed under "Accessories" at the Weigh-Tronix web site, www.agscales.com, or call 800-368-1084.
