New Ethernet-based DaqBook/2000E and WaveBook/516E from IOtech
IOtech's new Ethernet-based data acquisition products allow you to continuously acquire data to your PC at rates up to 1Mreadings/s. Ethernet offers several advantages over alternate PC-based architectures, for example:
o compared to plug-in PCI boards, Ethernet allows your instrumentation to work with notebook as well as desktop PCs - this means that you can use your instrumentation in portable and field applications
o compared to USB, USB2 and Firewire (IEEE 1394), Ethernet allows your instrumentation to be located up to 300 ft. from the PC (vs. 16 ft. with USB) - this allows your instrumentation to be located closer to where the test is occuring
o compared to parallel or EPP, Ethernet is faster and is a universal standard - no more hassles trying to make your parallel port go faster
o compared to IEEE 488, Ethernet is built into nearly every PC - no more expensive IEEE 488 interfaces and cables to add to your PC - and Ethernet is much faster than IEEE 488
