iScope® Pro Tracks, Stores Real-Time Data
Tool set supports LOGIC ONE® control systems
Copley, Ohio - November 1, 2003 - Novar Controls Corporation announced today the release of its iScope® Pro Data Acquisition System. This system, which uses the Microsoft®Windows® operating system, goes beyond the traditional monitoring services of its predecessor, iScope, to connect, retrieve and store historical logs, real-time data, schedules, and other items from sites equipped with LOGIC ONE® executive modules.
Historically, building management system data could only be used in their proprietary database. iScope Pro is designed to receive data from Novar Controls' LOGIC ONE executive modules such as the Executive Controller, Executive Processor (EP/2), Savvy®, Presto(TM), or Lingo®; format the data; and store the records in a Microsoft SQL Server 2000 database. A basic viewer allows users to run queries to sort and filter log data for their particular use. The software can be run on a single desktop or network server to allow multiple users to access the software and the resulting database. Once the data is in the Open Database Connectivity-compliant database, the information can be exported to a variety of third-party applications, such as Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft Access@, Crystal Reports, and others to provide facility managers with valuable, actionable information. This information is critical to allow facility managers to analyze their operations quickly, identify problem areas, define relevant solutions, and carry out the necessary actions to resolve the issues.
"Using an open database connectivity-compliant (ODBC) protocol, iScope Pro opens up a new window of opportunity for viewing, tracking and reporting log data," says Greg Decker, Novar Controls director of Strategic Marketing. "The log information is stored in ODBC databases that can be read by any number of user-friendly programs."
