Delphin Introduces New Fault Diagnostics System

The New Expert Transient Data Acquisition System

CHESTERLAND OH – CAS DataLoggers in partnership with Delphin Technology introduces the latest data capture solution—the new Expert Transient data acquisition system for fault diagnostics in machinery and plants. This new system is especially suited to the evaluation of pressure pulses, fast process monitoring and controller optimization. As Delphin’s North American Master Distributor, CAS DataLoggers is now offering these powerful systems to help you get your application quickly started and smoothly implemented.

Synchronous and Fast.
Sampling of analog and digital measurement data is performed fully synchronously. The Expert Transient data logger can operate independently for the synchronous acquisition of transient and periodical processes. This enables precise identification of the sequence of events in a malfunction. The system is available in two versions with 8 or 16 synchronous analog inputs and 4 digital inputs and can be extended to over 100 analog or digital inputs via a LAN interface with high-speed synchronization protocols. We can also supply an extension for additional synchronous digital inputs.

Measurement data can be recorded either continuously or according to triggered events. Users are also able to define triggers to record pre- and post-event data. The Expert Transient is equipped with powerful FPGA technology and is capable of synchronously acquiring and independently saving analog measurement data up to a sampling rate of 50 kHz per channel in combination with digital signals. Data storage is highly secure due to an option for parallel recording to internal and external storage media.

Stand alone and Compact for Field and System Measurement.
The standard Expert Transient device, equipped with plug-in terminals, is ideal for use with test stands or in laboratories. We can also supply the system in a robust mobile measurement case for field deployments in harsh environments.

Applications without PC support can store up to 16 GB of data in the device's internal storage. Parallel recording to a high-capacity external NAS device is possible, and the Expert Transient also features an optional Wi-Fi interface.

Applications:

  • High-speed acquisition of analog or digital signals
  • Fault diagnostics on machines, systems and test stands
  • Evaluation of pressure surges and pulses
  • High-speed process monitoring and controller optimization
  • Crash, detonation and explosion experiments
  • Shock and vibration measurement
  • Materials research and environmental simulation
  • Test stands and lab experiments
Powerful Evaluation Software:
The Expert Transient is delivered with Delphin’s powerful ProfiSignal Go software which enables recorded signals to be portrayed live in y(t) diagrams. Even large volumes of historical data are easy to analyze using ProfiSignal. ProfiSignal Go has been upgraded to enable large data volumes to be processed online. The Expert Transient is able to transmit data to a PC via an Ethernet interface where it can be saved and observed online. The device's internal storage can be accessed using ProfiSignal Go and the data can be analyzed offline. A signal sequence diagram is especially useful in providing an overview of the chronology of a malfunction event.

Delphin’s ProfiSignal measurement and testing software is ideal for data acquisition, test automation and process data acquisition applications, enabling online/offline analysis, visualization and operation from any PC workstation as well as PC-controlled process automation and database communications via ODBC/SQL. Channels are represented in a clear and intuitive operation in a Windows Explorer style, and all measured values can be transferred to online storage and will work on PCs or servers. Visualization and analysis are performed with the ProfiSignal software or OPC Server with any software, providing users with up to 1000x higher time resolution when compared against a SCADA system.
