Data Acquisition Card operates as 3 instruments.

Press Release Summary:

Multi-DAQ TASKCard® enables users to perform power quality surveys, root-cause analysis, or full energy audits. It is designed specifically for use with Power Platform 4300 and works with DRAN-View® visualization and analysis software. Three operational approaches include Inrush/Fault Recorder for 30 sec capture and storage of data, Data Logger for long-term analysis, and Power Quality Monitor which automatically evaluates existing rms and waveform conditions to establish optimal setups.

Original Press Release:

Dranetz-BMI Introduces New TASKCard for PP 4300 ; Multi-DAQ Delivers Performance of Three Instruments for the Price of One

Edison, N.J.-August 8, 2002-Providing additional value and versatility to its industry-leading line of handheld and portable power quality instruments, Dranetz-BMI today introduced its new Multi-DAQ TASKCard®. The Multi-DAQ joins Dranetz-BMI's family of interchangeable TASKCards, which enable users to perform in-depth power quality surveys, root-cause analysis, or full energy audits. The Multi-DAQ was designed specifically for use with the company's award-winning Power Platform 4300 (PP 4300) and works with DRAN-View®, Dranetz-BMI's multilingual visualization and analysis software.

"Before today, customers needed to purchase a separate TASKCard for basic power quality analysis, one for energy, and one for specialized measurements such as inrush," said Jerry Olechiw, vice president of sales for Dranetz-BMI. "Now, using a single Multi-DAQ TASKCard, the PP4300 operates as three distinctly different instruments, delivering outstanding value and performance. It simplifies data collection, regardless of application-from power quality troubleshooting to the evaluation of complex equipment test beds. Plus, the new TASKCard improves instrument setup by providing step-by-step guidance to ensure correct configuration."

The Multi-DAQ TASKCard provides users with three operational approaches to enhance the versatility of the PP4300 beyond its use as a complete three-phase power meter and oscilloscope. It can be used with existing and new PP4300 instruments.

o Inrush/Fault Recorder - Inrush-type events, such as motor start-up, transformer energization, breaker trip, triggering of digital fault recorders, and the activation of backup generation or power quality mitigation equipment typically requires extended duration, cycle-by-cycle recording. Using the Multi-DAQ TASKCard, users can capture and store detailed data occurring during that 30-second period to evaluate system performance against specifications. When operating in the inrush mode, the PP 4300 will immediately capture and store highly detailed data to a 32M-memory card, then re-arm and be ready to capture data during the next test run or event. Data collected in this mode allows users to optimize mitigation solutions and other short-duration processes in real time.

o Data Logger - Performing a statistically valid power quality or energy survey requires the capture of a set of basic data over an extended period of time (six months to one year). Plotting and trendinig that data is used to identify system degradation and implement a corrective action program. The PP 4300, equipped with the Multi-DAQ TASKCard, was designed to be left unattended in the field even under harslh weather conditions, logging data for long-term analysis.

o Power Quality Monitoring - The Multi-DAQ TASKCard's algorithms automatically evaluate existing RMS and waveform conditions to establish optimal setups for reliably capturing a comprehensive power quality dataset. This feature gives the novice user results that are expected and understandable, yet provides experienced users with a system that allows thresholds to be tweaked for specific applications. Either way, the data used to identify critical events and optimize power quality and reliability solutions is recorded directly onto the memory card as it occurs. Plus, the Multi-DAQ TASKCard integrates Dranetz-BMI's unique and patented waveshape and transient capture features so that difficult to capture events are collected and categorized.
