Darnell-Rose Offers Robust Maintenance Stand Casters

Towing an aircraft maintenance stand across the airport tarmac is easy when it's equipped with the Darnell Rose 4500, 5200, or 8000 series of Maintenance Stand Casters.

Darnell Rose, a division of Evans Industries, has developed and perfected this cost-effective workhorse line of casters to handle single-point loading up to 20,000 lbs. in wheel diameters ranging up to 20 inches. The 4500's smooth swiveling action is controlled by two heavy-duty tapered swivel bearings. Both the load and thrust bearings are efficiently maintained for long life cycles with easy-access pressure lube fittings. The over-sized, high shear 1-1/4 inch diameter adjustable king bolt, hold the casters structural components and bearings together in static and dynamic loading conditions. The wheels on all three series of casters are made of chemically resistant non-marking superior quality polyurethane molded onto a rugged cast iron or optional heat-dispersing aluminum core thus ensuring long-term durability while being pulled across airport ramps, hard-stands, and hangar floors. The optional combination heavy-duty wheel brake and 4-position swivel lock keeps the maintenance stand firmly fixed in position when placed next to the aircraft during maintenance activities.

The 5200 series casters are used for work-stands that require the highest load capacity and receive the most severe handling. A combination of better load distribution and the differential action of the twin wheels offers higher load capacity and requires less effort to change the direction of the swivel. Heavy duty supporting center leg and side forks are flame cut from solid plate steel and continuously welded on both sides for added strength and durability.
The 8000 series spring-loaded casters are also available in both single and dual wheel models. Expertly engineered to be the best shock absorbing work-stand casters available, provide heavy-duty Bellville spring suspension allowing 3 inches of travel for safe movement over irregular surfaces.
