DAQ Modules communicate using Modbus RTU protocol.

Press Release Summary:

Series D5000M units consist of 4-channel, analog input, smart data acquisition modules that allow sensors to be interfaced to any computer or processor-based equipment via serial port. Products combine analog input signal conditioning, A/D conversion, and output data via RS-232/485. Models measure voltage, current, thermocouple, and thermistor with 15 bit resolution and ±0.02% of FS max accuracy. Conversion rate is 8/s, and input to output isolation is 500 Vrms.

Four-Channel A/D Modules Communicate in Modbus Protocol

DGH Corporation announces the D5000M series of four-channel analog input smart data acquisition modules that communicate using the Modbus RTU protocol. The D5000M series allows sensors to be interfaced to any computer or processor-based equipment that contains a serial port. The DGH modules combine wide-range analog input signal conditioning, A/D conversion and output data via RS-232 or RS-485. Up to 247 modules or 988 channels can be strung on a pair of wires to a serial port on a host computer. These modules provide a low cost front-end for industrial measurement and monitoring. The Modbus protocol is supported by all of the popular process control software programs.

Models are available to measure voltage (±100mV, +1V, ±5V, ±10V), current (4-20mA), thermocouple (J, K, T, E) and thermistor (2252 ohm) with RS-232 or RS-485 output. The measurement resolution is 15 bits. Accuracy is ±0.02% of FS max. Conversion rate is 8/s. Input to output isolation is 500Vrms. Input burnout protection is 250vac. Transient suppression on all RS-485 lines is provided.

The internal 8 bit microprocessor automatically performs zero and full scale calibration tasks. The modules also contain a customer programmable digital filter. All scaling, linearization and calibration and communications values are stored in EEPROM, eliminating the need for pots or switches. Communication features include channel address, baud rate (300 to 115K) parity and checksum.

The modules are packaged in a unique 3.60" x 2.45" x 0.85" ABS case with captive hardware and a plug-in screw terminal connector. Each module requires +10 to +30Vdc unregulated supply at 0.75W. Rated performance is specified from -25 to +70°C.

Pricing, in singles, is $250 to $275. Delivery is stock to 2 weeks ARO.
