Original Press Release:

Agilent Technologies Introduces High-Speed, High-Volume USB Multifunction Data Acquisition Modules, Chassis

Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today introduced a series of multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) modules and instrument chassis that offer increased bandwidth for multiple I/O operations coupled with ease of connectivity and hot-swappable connections. This, together with the DAQ device's high sampling rate of up to 3 MSa/s for a single channel, enables fast and easy instrument setup and quality data acquisition.

Data acquisition modules are commonly used to perform measurement, monitoring, control or simulation of real-world signals such as temperature, pressure, vibration and strain. As data acquisition systems become more complex with multi-configuration and multi-vendor components and instruments, the Agilent U2300A Series USB modular multifunction DAQ device uses the common, non-proprietary standard interface that provides ease of connectivity -- allowing users to set up and configure their tests swiftly with its plug-and-play USB interface.

When used with the Agilent U2700A Series USB modular instrument chassis, this DAQ system provides more channels for today's various measurement needs. Providing flexibility across application software, the U2300A and the U2700A are part of Agilent Open, supporting open industry-standard software and PC-standard IO.

Simplifying the DAQ device application further is the bundled Agilent Modular Instruments Measurement Manager application software. This software eases instrument configuration and control, supports data-logging and enables export of data to printable formats for ease of analysis.

"With the recent successful launch of our handheld products, this new series of DAQ devices further strengthens our commitment to provide cost-effective solutions," said Ee Huei Sin, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Basic Instruments Division. "The unique feature of the U2300A Series is its ability to work either as a standalone or modular instrument with the U2700A Series USB modular instrument chassis."

"This is an exciting next step in the broadening of Agilent's value-based product offering," said Gooi Soon Chai, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Electronic Instruments Business Unit. "Now, we are expanding our portfolio by introducing a modular-based high-speed, high-volume USB DAQ solution."
