Danish Royal Navy Tactical Warfare School to Use ASTi Comms

IFAD TS A/S (Odense, Denmark) recently purchased three (3) Digital Audio Communication Systems (DACS), one (1) Telestra platform, and one (1) Radio Diagnostic Tool software license for use by the Royal Danish Navy.

These new Advanced Simulation Technology inc. (ASTi - Herndon, VA) systems are slated for deployment as part of the Royal Navy's relocation of its current Recognition and Communication School in Copenhagen to the Tactical Warfare School at Naval Base Frederikshavn.

The DACS systems will support up to 48 students and instructors, and will provide simulated communications for a large number of different HF, VHF, UHF and satellite radio systems. The Telestra platform will supply the training network with its high-fidelity HF radio propagation and SATCOM simulation servers. ASTi's new Radio Diagnostic Tool will also provide valuable network analysis facilities for DIS radio traffic on a customer-supplied Windows workstation.

When completed, the Tactical Warfare School will offer a number of Communication Simulation Trainers (CSTs) where tactical and procedural education will benefit a number of officers and operators. This includes training on-scene coordinators, search-and-rescue mission coordinators, crypto operators, and commanding officer candidates in a variety of complex communications scenarios.

In addition to hardware and software procurement, the contract calls for ASTi personnel to provide training and model development assistance to IFAD engineers in Denmark at a future date.
