MAUMEE, Ohio - Dana Holding Corporation (NYSE: DAN) announced today that it is supplying powertrain technologies to seven of the Ward's 10 Best Engines of 2011. The annual awards were presented earlier this month during the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Ward's list of 10 Best Engines focuses on powertrain excellence and is selected by the editors of Penton Media Inc.'s Ward's Automotive Group. In its 17th year, it is the only program in the North American automotive industry honoring powertrain achievement. Dana technologies can be found on several of the diverse winners, which include gasoline-, diesel-, and for the first time electric-powered vehicles.
"Dana supplies automakers with key powertrain technologies, offering cost-effective solutions for the market's varying needs," said Dwayne Matthews, vice president and general manager of the Dana Power Technologies Group. "The vehicles included in Ward's 10 Best Engines reflect the industry's commitment to advancing engine efficiency and quality, a goal that Dana enthusiastically shares."
The products Dana supplies to the honored engines help to improve durability, reduce oil consumption, improve engine performance and efficiency, reduce emissions, enhance installation flexibility, reduce part count, and reduce vehicle weight.
