The launch of HALC in the North East underlines DCBL's strategy of growth in the region. The recent acquisitions of Meghalaya-based Adhunik Cement and an increase in stake to 76%, in Assam based Calcom Cement, have given DCBL a strong foothold in the region. With the unique HALC technology, the company aims to capture a significant portion of the cement market as well.
In the month of March 2013, DCBL dispatched 110412 MT of cement (79785 MT from Meghalaya and 30627 MT from Assam) through its subsidiaries. Within three months of making a foray in the north-east market since January, DCBL emerged as a leading cement player and claimed the number one cement company position in dispatching the highest quantity of cement in the entire region.
