D3 and PlayNetwork Collaboration Brings Innovative Digital Media Experiences to New UNIQLO Flagship Stores in New York City

NEW YORK - D3 LED, LLC (D3), the world's leader in specialized LED digital display solutions, and PlayNetwork, producers of unrivaled media experiences for brands worldwide, recently collaborated to design and install digital display and visual brand experiences for two new UNIQLO flagship stores located at 666 Fifth Avenue and 31 West 34th Street in New York City. PlayNetwork designed the overall in-store audio and video systems at both stores, and D3 designed and manufactured multiple LED digital displays for the Japanese retailer, a subsidiary brand owned by Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. The Fifth Avenue store, which opened on October 14th, is now the largest single retailer on Fifth Avenue and largest UNIQLO store in the world. UNIQLO New York 34th Street opened to the public a week later on October 21st.

For UNIQLO New York Fifth Avenue, D3 designed custom LED digital displays for the store's glass elevators and six windows facing West 53rd Street, as well as a unique LED "tunnel ticker" display for a room located on the second floor of the 89,000 sq. ft. retail space. D3 also designed dramatic LED displays for the storefront windows at UNIQLO New York 34th Street. Both locations feature the best in technology with a combination of LED and LCD screens throughout the store and serve as models for future UNIQLO flagship locations. The new stores join the brand's existing retail location at 546 Broadway in New York City's SoHo district.

"These multifaceted installations are glowing examples of PlayNetwork's pledge to provide only the best in high-performance A/V systems and creative entertainment solutions," said DarrellChampagne, EVP of Operations at PlayNetwork. "D3's groundbreaking display designs, coupled with PlayNetwork's experience with innovative visual branding have created a truly unique experience for UNIQLO customers."

Having created several of the industry's most talked about LED displays for Aeropostale, Disney Store, Forever 21, GUESS!, MAC Cosmetics and Quiksilver, D3 continues its market dominance in 2011 as the leader in LED retail applications in New York City. D3 LED displays can be found throughout the world, and the Company is responsible for building more than 70% of the digital displays in New York City's Times Square since 2006.

"We were extremely proud to work with PlayNetwork on these dynamic projects for UNIQLO," said D3 Managing Partner, JasonBarak. "D3 LED displays open a new digital gateway for deep consumer engagement, well beyond traditional marketing, and provide exponential branding and promotional opportunities that can be replicated very quickly across multiple social media and online platforms."
