D-Link Enters WiMAX Market with Beceem Powered Terminal Products


Lineup of wireless broadband modem aimed at enterprise and consumer networking space

Taipei , October 22, 2007: Beceem Communications, the leading provider of terminal chipsets for Mobile WiMAX, today announced that it has entered into an agreement with D-Link, the leading Taiwanese consumer and enterprise networking equipment provider. D-Link is announcing its Mobile WiMAX products based on the BCS200 during 2007 WiMAX forum Taipei show case. Commercial shipments of the products are expected in the first quarter of 2008.

D-Link will sell Mobile WiMAX network gear based on the BCS200 chipset under the D-Link brand to Mobile WiMAX subscribers around the world.

By entering the WiMAX market D-Link is immediately becoming one of the leading consumer brands that can offer a full suite of Mobile WiMAX products. The move is especially timely given the M-Taiwan initiative and the upcoming network launches in the United States and Japan. Availability of a wide variety of Mobile WiMAX devices from a trusted consumer brand with established sales channels will accelerate the adoption of WiMAX services in those markets.
