D-Link Demonstrates End-to-End Networking Solutions at Interop 2006

Connectivity Solutions on Display Include First System-on-Chip iSCSI Storage, Switching, WLAN, Security, VoIP and IP Surveillance

LAS VEGAS, MANDALAY BAY CONVENTION CENTER, BOOTH 1275, May 1 -- D-Link will be showcasing its end-to-end networking and connectivity solutions at the Interop® 2006 trade show this week, complete with enterprise-level switching, wireless LAN, storage, security, VoIP, and IP surveillance.

Center stage in Booth 1275 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center May 2-5 will be D-Link's debut of its first iSCSI system-on-chip (SoC) storage products offering small- to medium-sized businesses (SMB) greater storage capacity, better data recovery and improved data backup at an affordable price. The D-Link xStack Storage family can store up to six terabytes of data with 10-gigabit-per-second speeds.

The D-Link booth will feature live demonstrations and separate pavilions for wireless LANs, switching, storage and security; IP communications, including IP PBX, IP phones, the industry's first flip-style Wi-Fi phone, switching, access points and IP surveillance.

Among the end-to-end connectivity solutions on display are:

Storage

xStack Storage iSCSI SAN Arrays -- The D-Link DSN-3200 and DSN-3400 SAN solutions, finalists in the Best of Interop competition, feature the industry's first 10-GBps interface, more than 65,000 I/Os per second, up to six terabytes of storage capacity with a maximum of 15 serial ATA hard drives, system memory of up to 512 megabytes, and up to 4GB of battery-protected cache memory. Each unit is housed in an industry-standard 3U (1.73 inches high), 19-inches wide chassis.

Both products fully support RAID Levels 0, 1, 1+0, 5 and 7, and offer high-performance iSCSI interfaces -- the DSN-3200 has eight 1GbE copper ports, and the DSN-3400 features a single 10GbE fiber optic port.

Switching

D-Link's xStack 3200 series switches -- are designed to provide effortless wireless technology convergence with traditional Layer 2 data access switching, emphasizing security, performance and resiliency. D-Link's family of switches features managed and unmanaged, stackable, rack-mountable and desktop, wired Ethernet and wireless, modular and standalone, Web Smart, Layer 3 and 10-gigabit.

The new D-Link xStack DXS-3227 can stack up to 32 units, providing up to 768-gigabit ports and a total aggregated bandwidth of up to 3.5 terabits. Included are 24 built-in copper gigabit ports, with four combo SFP ports for easy, flexible connection to fiber-based gigabit media. Two module slots support 10-gigabit Ethernet for both copper CX-4 and fiber XFP connections, and a fixed 10GbE XFP port allows a total switching capacity of up to 108Gbps. The DXS-3227 also supports IP static routing, 4000 VLANs, up to 64 trunk groups, and is "wireless ready."

The D-Link xStack DXS-3250 can stack up to 16 units to provide up to 768-gigabit ports. It has 48-built-in copper gigabit ports, including four combo SFP ports for easy, flexible connection to fiber-based gigabit media. Two module slots support 10G Ethernet for copper CX-4 and fiber XFP connections. With a simple optional firmware upgrade, the D-Link DXS-3250 transforms from a standard Layer 2 switch into an integrated wired and wireless switching solution for providing powerful wireless security, easy deployment and the ability to detect rogue access points. It also provides crucial centralized management for all compatible WLAN components.

WLAN

D-Link AirPremier WLAN Solutions -- With higher security protocols, increased bandwidth over multiple radio channels, and better management and control being built into wireless devices, the technology continues to gain acceptance as a mainstream solution for connectivity in SMBs.

The D-Link AirPremier family includes high-speed, single and dual-band, tri-mode WLAN wireless routers, adapters and access points that are compatible with 802.11g, 802.11b and/or 802.11a and next generation 802.11n standards. D-Link will have complete WLAN solutions on display, including the latest Draft 802.11n and other state-of-the-art wireless routers, indoor and outdoor Access Points, antennas and adapters.

Security

NetDefend and SECURESPOT -- D-Link's NetDefend family of firewall/VPN security appliances has expanded with the addition of the DFL-M510 Information Security Gateway to protect networks from emerging security risks. The new product helps to fight viruses, worm, confidential information leaks, compliance violations, identity theft and other threats by identifying unmanaged, unauthorized IM and P2P activity while managing file transfers, e-mail and streaming media applications.

The D-Link DFL-M510 gateway implementation can be based on company policies, and operation is both automatic and transparent. It can be installed in in-line mode without causing any change to current network architecture, and implements a hardware bypass function that avoids single points of failure, maximizing network connection in the event of a hardware crash.

Also in D-Link's security product arsenal are the NetDefend desktop and rackmount VPN Firewalls, the NetDefend secured by Check Point unified threat management (UTM) appliance and, for home-based and small businesses, the award-winning SECURESPOT Internet Security Device. The D-Link SECURESPOT (DSD-150) is designed for small businesses and is a hardware and Web-based low-cost alternative to installing separate anti-virus, anti-spam, anti-popup and other off-the-shelf or downloadable security software programs on each computer within the network.

IP Surveillance Cameras

The D-Link SecuriCam(TM) Internet Camera Line -- D-Link will be exhibiting the newest in Internet security cameras and enclosures. D-Link's latest innovations in IP camera technology include the award-winning SecuriCam Internet Camera line featuring a wide range of visual and auditory security cameras to fit multiple applications, including static wall-mounted cameras, audio capabilities, wired and wireless deployment, two-way communication and power over Ethernet (PoE).

For example, the award-winning D-Link SecuriCam Internet Camera with 10X Optical/Digital Zoom (DCS-6620G) features Pan and Tilt, 10X optical and digital zoom and complete remote control capability. The new D-Link SecuriCam Internet Cameras also feature advanced CCD sensor technology and a glass lens to deliver clear, crisp 640 x 480 resolution images even in areas of low light. New all-weather camera enclosures also will be highlighted.
