Cylinder produces rotary piston motion throughout stroke.
Press Release Summary:
Twist Clamp Cylinder is offered in 4 bore sizes of 25, 40, 50, and 63 mm. By attaching clamp arm, actuator becomes clamping mechanism for light-duty holding applications. Clamping force of up to 600 lb can be achieved at maximum pressure of 140 psi. Rotary motion rotates clamp arm out of work area for easy loading and unloading of parts. Cylinder has hard coat anodized, PTFE-impregnated body.

Twist Clamp Cylinder in Four Bore Sizes
August 27, 2002, Monee, Illinois - The Twist Clamp, based on the Bimba EF1 cylinder, incorporates an internal mechanism to produce rotary piston motion throughout stroke. By attaching a clamp arm, the actuator becomes an ideal clamping mechanism for light-duty holding applications. The rotary motion rotates the clamp arm out of the work area for easy loading and unloading of parts.
The Twist Clamp is available in four bore sizes, 25mm, 40mm, 50mm, and 63mm. Clamping force of up to 600 pounds can be achieved (at maximum pressure of 140 psi). The base cylinder is Bimba's high-quality EF1, so the Twist Clamp benefits from the same standard features: hard coat anodized, PTFE-impregnated cylinder body, and space-efficient overall length and envelope size. Rotation is achieved via a cam/bushing concept that has been tested to millions of cycles.
