New Cutting Wheel from Metabo Offers Extended Life and More Accurate Cuts
West Chester, PA, July 2002 - Metabo Corporation, a leading international manufacturer of professional grade portable electric power tools and abrasives for various industrial, construction and welding applications, has introduced the Slicer Plus, a new cutting wheel featuring a new design that increases both wheel life and cutting accuracy. This new wheel is an expansion of Metabo's existing thin-cut "Slicer" product line. The Slicer Plus is ideal for use on stainless steel, high carbon steel, and other high-tensile strength alloys, as well as in applications such as cutting partially embedded rebar, heavy wire decking and corrugated metals.
The Slicer Plus features two layers of heavy fiberglass to stiffen the wheel, increasing its accuracy throughout the cut. Its stiffer attributes also allow more accurate cutting through thicker material such as angle iron, flat bars, drill rods, cylinder rods, pipes and tubing.
The wheel's .045" thickness creates a kerf nearly as narrow as the thin-cut .040 wheels while maintaining the rigidity and strength characteristics of thicker wheels. Due to its ceramic-coated abrasive grain formulation, the Slicer Plus demonstrates a cutting speed similar to the existing thin-cut wheels but provides 3 to 4 times the wheel life.
The Slicer Plus is a cut-off wheel available for 4-1/2" and 6" capacity right angle grinders.
