Cutting Machines handle high volume production.

Press Release Summary:

Available in 5 sizes, Cutting Machines offer part diameter cutting capacities from 1-80 mm with production rates in excess of 700/min. They utilize highly concentrated of energy within narrow zone, eliminating strain hardening, cracking, and burrs. Machines are suitable for cutting nearly all metals including tool steel, spring steel, titanium, case-hardened steel, aluminum, and brass in wire, bar, profile section, or tube shapes.

New Generation of High Velocity Cutting Machines Announced

Eliminate Strain Hardening, Cracking and Burrs; Very Well Suited for High Volume Production

KARLSKOGA, SWEDEN - October 13, 2004 - Hydropulsor AB has announced its latest generation of high velocity cutting machines. The machines, which utilize highly concentrated energy within a narrow zone, provide a number of benefits compared to conventional cutting techniques, including eliminating strain hardening, cracking and burrs. Additionally, high velocity cutting machines can cost up to 15 times less to operate than cutting using a circular saw and up to 3 times less to operate than band saw cutting.

High velocity cutting creates a highly concentrated (molecular level) high temperature zone, where material softens and separates within a few milliseconds. Because of the short duration, there is negligible heat transfer outside the cutting zone. Consequently, high velocity cutting saves on materials, has exceptionally close length and weight tolerances, short set-up times and high production rates well suited to high volume production. Tool life is long and no cutting fluid is required.

Hydropulsor offers five sizes of high velocity cutting machines, with part diameter cutting capacities from 1 to 80 mm and production rates in excess of 700 per minute. The 80 mm capacity unit is the only high velocity cutting machine in the world for such large diameter use. Materials cut include nearly all metals including tool steel, spring steel, titanium, case-hardened steel, aluminum, brass and others in wire, bar, profile section or tube shapes.

The machines can be provided as complete production systems including bar magazines, end facing equipment, conveyors, scale and straightening devices.
