Cutting Edge Surveillance for Solar Energy Plant

Tel Aviv, Israel - Agent Vi has partnered with Axis Communications and Milestone Systems to deliver a cutting-edge IP surveillance system to Wirsol Solar UK, a globally active solar energy company.

Multiple solar farm sites across the United Kingdom now boast state-of-the-art security systems that effectively protect the sites despite the challenging conditions faced at those unmanned, non-illuminated, remote locations.

Systems Integrator WT Parker designed and installed the surveillance system comprised of Agent Vi's Vi-System video analytics software, Axis Communications' Axis Q1921E thermal network cameras, and Milestone Systems' Milestone Xprotect Enterprise video management software. Delivered through distributor Mayflex, the surveillance system was rapidly deployed at multiple solar farm sites to protect expensive equipment from theft and vandalism.

The integrated solution has already proven its benefits by detecting and alerting in real-time to multiple instances of intruders climbing over the fences at the solar farm sites and penetrating its perimeter. Agent Vi's real-time video analytics solution combined with Axis Q1921E thermal network cameras enables detection of intruders even in heavy rain and fog, without illumination devices.

Glenn Fletcher, UK and Ireland Country Manager for Milestone Systems, was delighted with the results and commented "This proves that Milestone's open platform approach really works. What the customer needed was a video management software that would have the capability of recording video streams from high quality Axis thermal cameras, receiving the correct alarm information from Vi-System, then displaying it in the operator's Xprotect Smart Client view as an alarm. WT Parker did a great installation and we are happy to be working with them as a partner."

Daren Lang, Regional Business Development Manager from Axis Communications, commented that "Thermal imaging cameras play a vital role in securing sites, particularly ones that are remote and often have difficult environmental challenges. Before you can identify you need to detect, and Axis thermal imaging cameras allow this regardless of lighting levels and weather conditions. This coupled with the excellent analytics package from Agent Vi, who has been a key analytics partner of Axis for many years, gives a best-of-breed solution that provides the end user the ability to react to potential security threats well before a major incident occurs."

Ariel Frischoff, VP Sales EMEA & APAC at Agent Vi, commented that "Agent Vi's seamless integration with Axis and Milestone, alongside the logistical and installation expertise of Mayflex and WT Parker, enabled a best-of-breed solution perfectly suited for this customer. This winning combination is already being rolled out at additional solar farm sites in the UK."
